TRAIL MAGIC -- November, 2014

If you missed the premier of TRAIL MAGIC, (the story of Grandma Gatewood), last August, you'll get a chance to see it on November 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. or on November 23 at 2 p.m. at The Balch Street Theatre, 220 S Balch St in Akron! And if you saw it in August - come join us again when Wandering Aesthetics presents this new production. TRAIL MAGIC is part of Wandering Aesthetics' The Mountain Cycle, a series of performances dedicated to researching and honoring the rich cultural heritage of Appalachia.

Wandering Aesthetics' Co-Artistic Directors Benjamin Rexroad and Kyle Jozsa thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2013. The production will be directed by Kyle who makes his directorial debut with this family-friendly look at Ohioan "Grandma" Emma Gatewood, the first female A.T. thru-hiker. Join Emma as she paints a picture of life on and off this 2,185.9-mile trail before the invention of cell phones or pocket stoves. You'll be amazed at her strength, perseverance and humor through times of struggle in EVERY walk of life.

After the Sunday Matinee performance stay for the Trail Angels Reception at 3:30 p.m. to help raise money for our PBS documentary about Emma. The reception will include music, light refreshments, a silent auction and more. Come join the fun and become a Trail Angel!

Tickets for the show are only $15.00. Tickets and pricing for the Trail Angels Reception will be avialable soon. There will be a discount for joint tickets which include both the TRAIL MAGIC peformance and the Trail Angels Reception.
