Women Hikers Walk-Of-Fame
Jamee Pemberton
2008 AT
hiker, Jamee Pemberton (Lady Slipper)

I just want to thank you for sharing your wonderful documentary story of Grandma Gatewood, she is one of my most inspiring heroes!

What a joy to see some of her story and re-live one of the happiest times in my life, hiking the AT!

. . . About ~70 percent was "slack packed" where my husband "Command Central" picked me up and dropped me off every day at AT road crossings and then we drove back to our moving base camp, every 4 days or so. During those days I hiked alone.

Then the other ~30 percent was hiked with my good friend, Heidi (she soloed the AT in 1989), we basically hiked all of Maine most of NH and the section starting at the Smokies heading south to Springer.

. . . And finally in a separate email I will send a quick slide preso of the Maine section. Note that on Slide 27 I have a poem from Grandma Gatewood.

Thank you for all your efforts to create such a wonderful documentary of an inspiring woman!"

Best Regards
Jamee Pemberton
