Today nonprofits
everywhere are raising money for causes that truly matter, and we
are grateful for every organization doing good in our world. You
can help us with these and other projects by making
a donation.
At Eden Valley, we are dedicated to telling the stories that others
forget. The stories of the Underground Railroad and the Great Lakes.
The stories of remarkable men and women like Dayton Miller, Moses
Cleaveland, Grandma Emma Gatewood and Victoria Woodhull. They may
not be the big names in history, but they MADE history!
Our work is simple but deeply important: preserving and elevating
the untold stories that shaped who we are. As our country approaches
its 250th anniversary, these moments in history, especially the
stories that rarely make it to the national stage, deserve to be
remembered, shared, and carried forward.
Every dollar helps us document and distribute stories like those
of Victoria Woodhull (first woman to run for president in 1872),
Grandma Gatewood (first woman to solo thru-hike the 2,050-mile Appalachian
Trail at the age of 67) and Dayton Miller (who took the first x-ray
of the human body). People whose courage changed the world but whose
names are still missing from far too many history books.
If you believe these stories matter, we would be honored to have
your support today. Currently, we are working on two special projects.
The first is to create a DVD with our two documentaries. The Emmy-nominated
TRAIL MAGIC: THE GRANDMA GATEWOOD STORY and the new VICTORIA WOODHULL:
SHATTERING GLASS CEILINGS. This DVD would make their stories accessible
to a larger audience.
The second is a new book and program, OBSCURE OHIO, to tell some
of the lost stories of the state.
You can help us with these and other projects by making
a donation online. If
you prefer you can send a check made payable to Eden Valley Enterprises;
1250 East River St., Elyria, Ohio 44035 (download
a convenient PDF form).
Help us keep
history alive, one story at a time.
