Wheelsmen
Wheelsmen are bunked at the same level as the Watchmen in similar quarters. There were three Wheelsmen aboard the Mather, and they pulled four-hours on and eight-hours off watches in the Pilot House.
Duties: Wheelsmen took orders from the Mate on duty or the Captain as they steer the boat. In other words, they stand their post at the wheel in the Pilot House. During docking, the Wheelsmen stand the forward mooring winch watch.
