Dear
Belinda,
Well,
you'll be pleased to know I took another hike last week (sort of!)
On
Thursday, September 28, 2017 we had another wonderful showing of TRAIL
MAGIC for the Chautauqua by Elixir Presents and the Mount Vernon library
in Mount Vernon, Ohio. We were hosted at the Grand Hotel (and it truly
was!) and had a wonderful crowd of 105 people! One of our audience members
met Grandma Gatewood when he was in high school and shared some of his
memories with us.
I know
- that doesn't sound like much of a hike to you, but on Friday we met
one of our audience members, Roberta, in Mansfield. She was donating
a wonderful poster of the Appalachian Trail to us and so we spent the
afternoon visiting with her. Part of that visit included a trip to Kingwood
Center where they were having a Ribbit Exhibit. These lush garden grounds
were now "peopled" by a number of whimsical frog statues!
So basically we "hiked" all over the garden looking for the
frogs that were scattered around. Though it wasn't a hike in the regular
sense - we WERE outside enjoying nature and walking around - by my standards
it counts! Besides, Roberta was setting off this week for a REAL hike
on the AT, so that should count for something.
I'm
sending you some pictures from Mt. Vernon and Mansfield. OH, and in
case you were hoping to catch some of these frogs, the exhibit closed
on Sunday.
Happy
Trails!
Bette Lou
